For 50 years, Rothman Gordon has been advising on labor and employment issues. This experience, and our knowledge of trial tactics and medical issues, positions us as one of the most prominent firms in Western Pennsylvania dealing with Workers' Compensation law.
Workers' Compensation
A substantial segment of our practice is devoted to negotiating fair settlements and our services include the prosecution, documentation, and litigation of claims. The Firm maintains ongoing contact with the Bureau of Workers' Compensation and regularly appears before workers' compensation judges. Our years of experience have given us two distinct edges: we are able to anticipate the insurance industry's tactics which may negatively impact both employers and employee rights and we have developed a sensitivity and understanding that each case is unique and merits individualized attention as we develop options, alternatives, and strategies for a satisfactory outcome.
Social Security Disability
In addition to Workers' Compensation, Rothman Gordon represents injured and disabled individuals and their families, helping them obtain Social Security Disability benefits, which if not obtained early on, could cause devastating effects in later years. Our attorneys will counsel from the initial application for benefits through any denial processes and preparation for hearing.
Our experience includes:
* Creating a safety net of future monetary sources for the injured worker
* Preserving an injured worker's social security account so there is something significant to draw upon at retirement age
* Coordinating a person's right to receive workers' compensation and social security simultaneously
* Educating clients that they can receive benefits from both private LTD and pension plans, as well as the social security disability program
* Coordinating a person's right to receive social security disability and long-term disability benefits
* Helping to have the injured worker's Medicare benefits commence as soon as possible
* Insuring that a disabled worker's minor children receive the additional benefits to which they may be entitled
* Helping the injured worker apply for benefits before they have been off for twelve months
* Counseling the widow/widower on their rights to benefits from a spouse's account
* Assisting in procedural hurdles to appeal initially adverse decisions or denials
